Dental Nurse Apprentice

Daniella Tirsina is a talented and ambitious Dental Nurse Apprentice at Rock Dental. Since joining in 2025, she has impressed both patients and colleagues with her enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment to learning.

Professional Journey

Originally a policing student, Daniella changed direction to pursue her passion for dentistry. She is currently completing her Dental Nurse Apprenticeship at Sandwell College, combining her academic studies with hands-on clinical training at Rock Dental.

Her dedication and skill have already been recognised: in 2025 she was awarded Apprentice of the Year at the Dental Star Awards, as well as at Sandwell College.

Alongside her apprenticeship, Daniella has completed additional training in first aid, safeguarding, GDPR, manual handling, fire awareness, and health and safety – ensuring she supports patients and the practice with professionalism and care.

Areas of Interest

Daniella has developed particular interests in:

• Root canal nursing – assisting specialists during complex endodontic procedures
• Dental marketing and patient engagement – creating educational and accessible content to reduce dental anxiety

She has also been involved in producing social media content for Rock Dental, helping increase online engagement and build trust with patients.

What She’s Proud Of

One of Daniella’s proudest moments so far was assisting during a complex root canal treatment for an anxious patient who had been in pain for weeks. Being part of the team that relieved their discomfort and witnessing their gratitude reinforced her passion for dentistry and the impact it can have on people’s lives.

She is also proud of balancing her apprenticeship with her growing role in the practice’s marketing efforts – translating complex procedures into simple, engaging content that educates and reassures patients.

Life at Rock Dental

For Daniella, Rock Dental is more than just a place of work. She describes it as a warm, welcoming, and supportive team, where collaboration and patient care come first. She values the positive culture, the encouragement to learn new skills, and the opportunity to contribute not only clinically but also creatively through content creation.

Beyond Dentistry

Outside of work, Daniella is passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where she has earned her Pink Belt in the Women Empowered programme and is now training to compete. She also enjoys painting, which allows her to explore her creativity, and volunteering with the Canal Trust, supporting the preservation of local waterways.

She describes one of her biggest lessons in life as not being afraid of change:

“Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is exactly what you need to grow and thrive.”
