Since joining Rock Dental in 2016, Gemma Price has become an indispensable part of our team – known for her warmth, dedication, and the exceptional care she gives to both patients and colleagues. Starting as a trainee dental nurse, Gemma qualified in 2019 and has since grown into a dual role as Senior Dental Nurse and Treatment Coordinator, supporting a multidisciplinary team of 17 clinicians.

A Passion for Patient Care

Gemma is deeply committed to making every patient feel safe, supported, and understood. She takes time to explain treatments in clear, friendly terms, follows up after appointments, and often nurses during procedures for nervous patients to provide continuity and reassurance. Her patient-centred approach has transformed the experiences of many anxious patients, helping them regain trust and confidence in dental care.

Skills and Expertise

Gemma has expanded her skills far beyond traditional dental nursing. She is qualified in dental radiography (including CBCT and OPG), sedation nursing, impression-taking, and iTero scanning. This allows her to assist across a wide range of specialist treatments including implantology, orthodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and restorative dentistry. Her dual role also sees her coordinating complex treatment plans, discussing finance options, and ensuring patients have clarity at every step of their journey.

Supporting Our Team

As a senior nurse, Gemma is passionate about mentoring apprentices and newly qualified nurses. She leads by example, offering guidance, encouragement, and support to help others build confidence and grow in their roles. She also played a pivotal part in Rock Dental’s transition from a two-surgery practice to our current four-surgery specialist centre, ensuring smooth workflows and training during the move.

Community and Charity

Gemma is actively involved in Rock Dental’s community and charitable work, from fundraising for Cancer Research UK and the Brain Tumour Charity, to organising food bank collections and Christmas gift drives. She has also supported oral health education in schools and care homes, and even coordinated international donations of toothpaste to children in Ghana.

Outside Dentistry

Outside of work, Gemma enjoys running to support her fitness and wellbeing, as well as clay pigeon shooting to unwind and challenge herself. She values spending quality time with friends and family, and loves travelling whenever possible.
