Associate Dentist
Dr Reece Bushell joined Rock Dental in 2025 and works with us on Saturdays, bringing energy, compassion, and a strong commitment to patient-centred care. A graduate of the University of Birmingham (2022), Reece has already built an impressive career foundation with experience across general practice, oral surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and academic teaching.
Clinical Interests
Reece has a particular passion for:
- Prevention and promoting oral health
- Managing anxious patients with care and reassurance
- Children’s dentistry
He has developed skill and confidence through both foundation training and dental core training, including oral and maxillofacial surgery placements. Reece is a general member of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (Midlands Group) for 2025–26, reflecting his ambition to specialise in paediatrics in the future.

Reece has received numerous awards at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including:

- British Endodontic Society – Harty Essay Prize 2022
- British Society of Paediatric Dentistry – Special Care Prize 2022
- Regional Case Presentation Winner (Foundation Training 2022–23)
- John Gilmore Prize for Outstanding Achievement by a Foundation Dentist (2022–23)

Teaching and Professional Development
Alongside his clinical work, Reece is completing a Masters in Research as part of his Academic Dental Core Training. He regularly teaches both clinical and non-clinical topics to undergraduate dental students, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of dentists.
He has also introduced practical improvements in practice, such as implementing a “was not brought” policy to better safeguard children who miss appointments.
Looking Ahead
Reece aspires to specialise in paediatric dentistry, with future plans to gain accreditation in both inhalation and IV sedation. His vision is to combine specialist expertise with community engagement, promoting oral health for children and families across the region.

At Rock Dental, Reece values being part of a supportive, multi-specialist team where patient care always comes first. He enjoys the collaborative culture and the chance to contribute to a practice that invests in its people and patients alike.
Outside Dentistry
Outside of work, Reece is passionate about musical theatre, health, fitness and wellbeing. He enjoys gaming, spending time with family, and giving back to the community. Each year he takes part in school visits to promote oral health, inspiring children to build healthy habits for life.
