Since joining Rock Dental in 2021, Damini Padhiar has been an important part of our hygiene and therapy team. With a background in both medical science and oral health science, she brings a strong scientific foundation to her clinical work, combined with a warm, approachable style that helps patients feel comfortable and cared for.

Clinical Interests

Damini has a particular passion for:

• Supporting nervous or dental-phobic patients, using techniques such as acclimatisation, tell-show-do, and visual aids to gently build trust and confidence.
• Educating patients about periodontal (gum) disease, helping them understand their condition and take positive steps to manage it.
• Expanding her skills in restorative therapy work to use the full scope of her role as a dental therapist.

Her most memorable moments in practice have come from helping nervous patients progress from being unable to enter the surgery, to confidently returning for treatment and maintaining their oral health long term.

Professional Journey

Before dentistry, Damini graduated with a BSc in Medical Science from the University of Birmingham (2017), before going on to qualify in Oral Health Science from the University of Manchester (2021). Since then, she has worked across four practices, gaining valuable experience and developing her confidence and skills by learning from colleagues.

She has also completed Medical Exemptions training, strengthening her ability to support patients with complex medical needs.

Life at Rock Dental

Damini describes the Rock Dental team as “like family,” and enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment where patients can access all aspects of their care under one roof. She values the support she received when joining as a newly qualified professional, which helped her grow in confidence, and cherishes the team spirit fostered through social events and shared achievements.

Personal Life

Outside dentistry, Damini enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants (and sharing her reviews on social media), as well as arts and crafts, which she sells through her own Etsy shop. She lives by the motto:

“Growth is outside of the comfort zone.”

This mindset has shaped her career, giving her the confidence to embrace therapy work and expand her skills beyond hygiene alone.
