What you can expect from Invisalign Invisible Braces

Invisible Braces and Your Smile

Invisible braces change your smile. Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you. The first step in making a positive impression is to smile. When you smile, you light up. As the saying goes, “Smile and the world smiles too.” There are lots of famous quotes relating to having a great smile! So, there’s nothing like a smile to create a good first impression. A warm and confident smile will put both you and the other person at ease. Your smile is contagious, and others want to smile with you.

Often, we feel how we look. Feeling happy about how you look can help you to feel confident. Increased confidence helps with the way you interact with other people. It’s normal to worry about the way you look sometimes. Invisible braces are used to change the way your teeth look.

We are a health-conscious society, and, as such, straight white teeth promote the image of health. Nobody wants to be perceived as being unhealthy, or unwell.

Invisible Braces to Improve Your Smile

Invisalign is one of the many options available to improve your smile. It is a series of clear, almost invisible aligners, which gradually straighten your teeth. Previously metal braces, and dental veneers were the only way to achieve this. Metal braces are visible to everyone, so adults didn’t really choose the option. Yes, ceramic braces are now available, but they are not quite as invisible as Invisalign. Dental veneers were previously very popular as a method of improving your smile. However, this type of treatment involves the cutting and re-shaping of your teeth. Most patients want to avoid damage to their teeth, and as a result, Invisalign treatments are now growing in popularity.

Who has Invisalign?

Invisalign benefits

Almost invisible braces

You can hardly see the aligners. That is the point of Invisalign.

Improved comfort

No brackets or wires, and as a result, less soreness on your cheeks and gums.

Easily removed

You simply click the aligners in and out. It’s like wearing a gumshield.

Easy to maintain

You can easily clean them when you remove them. Brushing with water and a soft toothbrush does the trick.

The Invisalign Invisible Braces Treatment Process

Clincheck

The first step is to take impressions or a scan of your teeth. This is converted to a digital preview of the movements that your teeth will make up until the end of treatment. Consequently, you can actually see how your teeth will end up looking at the end of the process.

Delivery of aligners

Then you are provided with a series of aligners, which you change every two weeks. The dentist will see you periodically to ensure tooth movements are occurring as expected.

What To Expect from Invisible Braces

Tightness

When you insert a new Invisalign aligner, it will feel tight. This is normal. It has to feel tight in order to apply force to your teeth. Subsequently, it will become less tight as your teeth move as a result of the forces applied.

Altered speech

Speech disturbance is minor, and usually overcome very quickly. It’s only natural to expect this as you are wearing an appliance in your mouth.

Sore gums

On occasion parts of your gum can become sore due to the edge of the aligner. This rectifies as your gums get used to it, however, if it doesn’t, then your aligners are easily trimmed.

No eating with Invisible Braces

The aligners are removed when eating. This is important. Patients get really good at quickly and covertly removing and inserting the aligners.

Invisible Braces Treatment Duration

Due to the tooth movements required, the overall time of treatment depends on each patient case. We expect you to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day for them to work effectively.
